The proliferation of e-commerce platforms and the emergence of 3D printing turn the idea to bring custom shoes production online into life. We at NutsDev have combined these drivers into one application that brings the user experience of visiting a fashion house online. The application is powered by ARKit from Apple that utilizes the camera and LiDAR Scanner on iPhone and iPad to create a 3D model of customers' legs and then be 3D printed in-house at the workshop. The process of placing an order online including 3D scanning and customization of the pair of ‘dream’ shoes is as natural and convenient as visiting a fashion house. Once 3D scans are printed and stored at the workshop customers just need a couple of taps to order thenext pair of shoes.
